Bathin' Beauty

Hey Mammas!
So this summer has been hot! hot!hot! With this extra weight and newly found places that sweat, I have been looking for ways to stay cool. In my quest to stay out of the hellasious (yes that's a made up word)heat, I have found some methods to reduce the the amount of discomfort.

I guess I should warn you that preparation for the heat does take a little pre-planning but its well worth it. First, place two water bottles in the freezer every night. Cool water through out the day helps to stay cool, stay healthy, and keep from melting. Next, when you wake up, soak a wash cloth in ice cold water and ring it out. Place the wash cloth in a sandwich bag and pop it in the freezer until you're ready to head out the door. This can be used as a refresher throughout the day. You can place it on your forehead or to cool other sweating places. Also you can purchase a spritz for your face. I like the mist from mark. You can make your own, by mosing down to your local dollar store and purchasing a spray bottle. Fill it with water, put a couple lemon and cucumber slices in it, and you will be good to go. Its great for a quick cool down and to wake you up when you're about to nodd off.

Summer is the perfect time to invest in feminine wipes. You don't have to spend money on the name brand, the generic gets the job done. You can clean away sweat and add a hint of freshness. Also purchase a travel size stick of deodorant along with an extra pair of panties and leave it at the office.Invest in a good sun screen. Also got for light fragrances and keep a mini bottle of your favorite fragrance or get a vile of body oil.

Make-up sliding off your face? Do you look like you are melting? Invest in a great primer, switch to mineral foundation, find blotting sheets or powder, and give your skin a rest for a least two days a week.

Now...onto summer fun!The amusement park first peaked my interest, then the thought of being restricted to the wave pool and walking around a huge park shot that down (although I still have a slight urge to go). So the next best thing would be to hit the swimming pool. But what would I wear?!

I researched maternity bathing suits and wasn't impressed. I then took a looky loo on Target's website and liked what I saw. Since I plan on laying pool side this weekend I took a trip to Target yesterday. I tried on two tops and a bottom from the Liz Lange Maternity line. The fit was true to size and made me feel confident. I didn't want to look like a sack of potatoes! After I got the vote of approval from my sweetie and his mini me, I decided to get it. Now I must warn you that even though the bathing suit was from Tar-jay(Target), it was still a little bit pricey. They sold the pieces separately and individually each piece was about $22. I spent almost $50 on a bathing suit that will only compliment my figure while its hosting a little one!

As for cover ups, you can always find cute ones on motherhood.com, oldnavy.com, and target.com. Or you can save money by perusing the thrift for a cute sundress, shorts, or a breezy top. My mom just made a trip there and bought me a nice pair of jean shorts and an adorable baby doll top.

Check back for pics of the bathing suit! Stay cool!
