Where to Find Great Maternity Fashion

When I began to look for maternity clothes, I realized that the bulk of it fell into two categories. Either it was over priced or made you look frumpy. This of course left me feeling distraught, until my genius mother went to the thrift store and came home with bags of clothes for me. This re energized my motivation to still feel like me while preparing for a great change in my life.
The thrift store is a great place to find designer fashion for less. Most thrift stores now have a maternity section because a lot of women get rid of their maternity clothes having no longer a need for them. I have purchased several pairs of pants, dresses, skirts, and really nice shirts. I even found maternity skinny jeans!
The best advice to thrift shopping is to go in with an open mind and don't come in with anything particular item in mind. Try clothes on before you leave because most thrift stores are final sale (this may require a team effort if the store doesn't have dressing rooms. You may want to enlist a family member or a friend to cover you while you try on). Ask a sales associate if they have half off days or discount cards so that you can really rack up on the savings. Invest in Dryell so that you can dry clean the items that need it in the convenience of your home. When I get home from a great day "at the thrift" (my chic name for the thrift store) I throw the clothes in the washing machine and hang dry when ready. I can go to the thrift and come out with 6 items for under $50.00.
Although the bulk of my experience with Motherhood Maternity has been via the thrift, I like what they have to offer. The store offers a selection of clothes that allow you to be just as fashionable in maternity clothes as you were before your bump arrived. I invested in some of their underwear and am greatful I did. I dont like the fit of their plain tees or polos but their dresses fit like a dream and show off your sexy curves.
Next on the list for great maternity wear is Old Navy! I absolutely love their online maternity shop. They have great pieces that are interchangeable and can stretch your wardrobe. The website also has pictures of suggestions on how to wear the items. There is almost always a sale and if you sign up for their email list, they'll send you the latest sale info and extra savings! A lot of their maternity items can only be returned or exchanged via the mail. Their returns and exchange process runs smoothly. I check their website every week, and am never disappointed.
Check out the plus size section of Forever 21. My sister bought me four shirts from there and I was so happy to receive them. They added the young flair with great fit that I was looking for.
Finally I would suggest shopping your own closet. Especially if you have a summer pregnancy. I have been putting my pre pregnancy wardrobe to work. Sun dresses make the best maternity dresses. They're cool, cute, and you don't have to spend any additional money on clothes you already have. I have also tried to recreate some of favorite outfits with maternity clothes.
